Numerical Investigation on Photon Sensing Parameters for Some Thermoluminescence Dosimeters: A Comparative Study

In the present work, twelve inorganic thermoluminescence dosimeteric (TLD) materials doped with some rare earth elements (LiF:Sm, LiBaP 2 O 7 :Eu, CaCO 3 CaSO 4 :Dy, SrSO :Sm, CdSO BaSO Li B MgB :Gd, Al MgAl :Ce and LiCaAlF 6 :Eu) three organic TLD (C H NO , C 8 BaO ) were selected for comparative analysis on basis of different photon sensing parameters. About nine parameters viz. mass attenuation coefficient (MAC), linear (LAC), mean free path (mfp), half value layer (HVL), tenth (TVL), effective atomic number (EAN), electron (EEN), exposure buildup factor (EBF) energy absorption (EABF) obtained fifteen TLDs. The simultaneous variation these TLDs composition has been analyzed. results help radiation physicists to easily select a particular dosimeter their research laboratory from existing compositions. All MAC, LAC, mfp, HVL, TVL, EAN, EEN, EBF EABF strongly depend upon incident chemical in lower higher regions. Among TLDs; : Eu 3+ offers best (maximum values EEN; minimum EBF, EABF); whereas :Gd EAN close tissue less most respect energy.
